Media Preflight Kit
A step-by-step workflow for checking media metadata and preparing quick deliverables. 100% client-side.
Workflow
- 1) Verify duration
Use Media Duration Analyzer to confirm length. This avoids “it’s 29.97s not 30s” surprises when exporting or placing in timelines.
- 2) Check bitrate/codecs
Use Media Bitrate Checker to see stream details. This is useful for diagnosing “why is this file huge?” or “why is audio quiet?”
- 3) Extract audio (optional)
If you only need the audio, use Video → Audio Extractor. Choose MP3 for smaller files, WAV for lossless.
- 4) Trim a clean segment (optional)
Need a teaser clip or remove dead air? Use Audio Trim.
- 5) Make a shareable MP4 (optional)
For quick previews (Slack, clients, etc.), use Image + Audio → Video to wrap an audio track in a still-image MP4.
Common pitfalls
- Very large files can run out of memory in the browser.
- DRM-protected videos often cannot be processed (and should not be).
- Some formats may trim inaccurately when using stream copy.
